8th Grade English Language Arts
Welcome 8th graders! I am so excited to work together this year and to get to know each one of you. We will be working hard, learning a lot, but also having fun together. I look forward to an awesome year with all of you!
Our English Language Arts classroom will follow a Reading and Writing Workshop structure. Throughout the year, we will focus our learning on two essential questions: How do I make a difference in the world? Are we really that different? During Reading Workshop, we will focus on constucting meaningful responses to literature and deepening our comprehension of texts by using effective reading strategies. During Writing Workshop, we will focus on writing in a variety of genres while working to develop our craft and purpose of writing.
