Student Honors & Recognition at Northeast Middle School

Honor Roll:  Students are recognized at the end of each trimester for earning a g.p.a. of a 3.2 or higher.

Citizenship Honor:  Students who earn five (5) or more Outstanding marks on their citizenship grades will be recognized.

Purple and White:  At the end of each academic school year, students who have maintained a 3.5 (or higher) g.p.a. during the first two trimesters of the school year will be recognized with this honor.  (8th grade students receive their Purple and White certificate at their 8th Grade Celebration.)

Principal's Honor:*  8th grade students who have maintained a 3.8 (or higher) g.p.a. throughout their first eight trimesters of middle school will be recognized with this honor at their 8th Grade Celebration.

*8th grade students who maintain a 4.0 throughout their first eight trimesters of middle school will also be recognized for this outstanding accomplishment during a special breakfast at the end of their 8th grade year.  These students will be recognized with this honor at their 8th Grade Celebration.

High Honor:  8th grade students who have maintained a 3.5-3.79 g.p.a. throughout their first eight trimesters of middle school will be recognized with this honor at their 8th Grade Celebration.

Honors Recognition:  8th grade students who have maintained a 3.2-3.49 g.p.a. throughout their first eight trimesters of middle school will be recognized with this honor at their 8th Grade Celebration.

Most Valuable Viking:  Each staff member of Northeast Middle School selects a student--using his/her criteria--to recognize during the May faculty meeting.

Student-to-Student:  Students recognize one another for their contributions to Northeast (i.e. friendships, commitment to loyalty, outstanding qualities, etc.).  These recognitions are read aloud during the morning announcements.  Students being honored receive a certificate and students who are first time recognitions also receive a Northeast t-shirt.  

Perfect Attendance:  Students who have perfect attendance for the entire school year will receive a personal letter from the principal and recognition in the newsletter.
