| General Overview |
Northeast Middle School is one of five middle schools in the Parkway School District. Approximately 1000 students are enrolled in this 6th through 8th grade school. Northeast Middle School takes pride in the diversity of its student population which is represented by the many flags of different nations hanging in the school gymnasium (over 35). Each of these flags represents a nation of origin for current and former students. Sixty five general education teachers and thirteen special educators are on staff at Northeast Middle School. The experience of this staff ranges from one to two years and up to thirty years. Northeast Middle School teachers often collaborate on lesson design, assessment and the review of student work. Staff development and ongoing learning are two essential ingredients to the success of the Northeast teaching staff. The staff of Northeast Middle School understands that "teaching" goes beyond the classroom and as a result, many of the staff sponsor after-school activities or volunteer to chaperone evening events for Northeast students.
