Copyright-friendly Music for Multimedia Projects

When using music in a school project, you must follow copyright rules of fair use.

If the music is copyrighted, then the standard is to use only 30 seconds of the song, or no more than 10% if the song is short.

The following sites contain copyright free or Creative Commons music that the authors are allowing the public to use.  Be sure to read the terms of agreement for each site, since they are all a little different.  The terms of agreement will be more strict if you are posting your project on the web.  If you are using the music in your classroom only, you have a little more leeway.
