Summer Opportunities

The Saint Louis Zoo is hosting a job fair on Saturday, January 10 for those interested in seasonal and part-time employment during the upcoming winter, spring, summer and fall seasons.  The job fair will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Living World Building on the north side of the zoo.

The University of Missouri offers a summer experience for high school students interested in a career in medicine.  For information, click here.

The University of Missouri-St. Louis Advanced Credit Program provides Advanced Credit Program High School students with an opportunity to earn college credit over the summer break.  Students receive college credit at a drastically discounted tuition rate.  Please click here for further information.

The University of California-Berkley Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) is offering a summer research internship.  For further information, click here.

The Bank of America Student Leaders' program is an eight-week summer program where students do an internship with a local nonprofit organization and travel to Washington, D.C. for one week for a Student Leadership Summit.  Please visit the website for more information.

Parkway/Maryville offers a summer opportunity which gives High School credit while helping students prepare for college admissions.  Please view this PowerPoint.


Hadassah a Young Judaea are proud to present an opportunity for two well-qualified young women to win a full scholarship worth close to $7,000 for a life changing four week summer program in Israel.  The dead line for application is January 15.  Please click here for further information.

University of Missouri, St. Louis (UMSL) offers 2 different summer opportunities that are worth exploring.  One is for students who are interested in Science.  It is called STARS, Students and Teachers as Research Scientists.  Click here for further information.

The Central Region of Tuskegee Airmen will host the 4th Annual Youth Aviation Campfor 13-17 years old June 26-28.  Please see Guidance for further information.

Southwest Airlines hosts an annual summer program for select teens and their parent/escort at their headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.  Please come to Guidance for further information.

Princeton University is offering their 29th Annual Cultural Exchange Program July 28-August 8.  All current Sophomores and Juniors are invited to apply.  Applications must be postmarked by Janaury 7, 2015.  Application is available online at

Summers @ Mizzou is a program designed to bring youth age 12-18 to the University of Missouri campus.  Youth will have a chance to experience life as a college student by living in the dorms, eating in a dining hall and exploring campus and Columbia.  These camps are great for those beginning to think about college and their future career.  Please click here for further information.
