Northeast Middle's Monyee Wright named 'Middle School assistant principal of the year'

Monyee Wright, assistant principal at Parkway’s Northeast Middle School, has been named "Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year" for 2008-2009 by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals.  Wright will be honored at an Awards Banquet at Lindenwood University on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. 

Wright has been assistant principal at Northeast Middle School for six years and has been working with children for 22 years. She started her career at the Missouri School for the Blind in 1986.

Wright said, “I have a deep, abiding passion for educating our children. It is my hope to continue to work to provide our students and community with the educational leadership to prepare our youth for a greater tomorrow in an ever-changing international society. It is truly an honor to have my peers to select me to represent them.”

Wright received degree in educational administration in 2002 from St. Louis University; a master of education from the University of Missouri in St. Louis in 1994; and a Bachelor of Science from Harris-Stowe State College in St. Louis in 1988.

Wright is an active volunteer and works with numerous organizations including: St. Louis University Black Alumni Association Board Member, Operation Brightside, Boys and Girls Club, Khoury League Coach and Helper, Kirkwood Girls Track Announcer, St. Louis Rams, Demetrius Johnson Hoops and Huddles, and East St. Louis Railers/Dasher Track and Field Summer Program.
