The String Instrumental Music program is designed for all students in grade 3 and any student wishing to continue in grades 4 and 5.

The Suzuki string method is used in the third grade. Each student is provided with an instrument to use at school and all lessons are free. Third grade students study the Suzuki literature while concentrating on playing skills.

Students who continue in grade 4 and 5 are required to provide their own instruments. At this time, a student may switch instruments; violin, viola, cello, and bass instruction is offered. Fourth grade students continue refining their playing skills through the further study of the Suzuki literature, note reading exercises, and elementary orchestral pieces. Fifth grade students explore more advanced elementary orchestral pieces with a continued emphasis on skill development and note reading.
