Wren Hollow Elementary School and the American Heart Association teamed up to raise money to help lifesaving heart and stroke research and fund educational programs.

Wren Hollow P.E. teachers, Peg Metroff and Laura Heitert celebrated an all school "JUMP Rope for Heart" event. Students collected donations for the American Heart Association and concluded the event with jumping stations during P.E. classes on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6. Students were encouraged to wear the color red in support of the American Heart Association.

The Wren Hollow staff also participated in the "Go Red for Women" campaign by wearing red and donating money to the American Heart Association. The red dress represents the importance of finding a cure for heart disease, the current number one killer of women.

Students and staff members collected over $1,000. Donations will continue to be accepted.

Other Parkway schools participating in the “30th Anniversary of Jump rope for Heart” are: Craig, Barretts, Wren Hollow, Oak Brook, Hanna Woods, Ross, River Bend, Carman Trails, Highcroft Ridge, Pierremont and South Middle.
