Two Central High students ace ACT exam

Two Parkway Central High School students recently learned they scored a 36 -- the highest possible score -- on the ACT college admissions and placement exam. The students are:

Hannah Wiedner
Central High

Joy Yang
Central High

Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, only roughly one-tenth of one percent receive a perfect score. In 2011, more than 1.6 million students took the ACT exam.

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science.  Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student’s composite score is the average of four test scores.  The ACT test assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
