Parkway Education Foundation Recognizes Generous Donors

The Parkway Education Foundation has recently received a number of generous gifts that will each fund a special grant for a Parkway teacher. The donors are: Automatic Controls Equipment Systems, Inc.; The Fru-Con Foundation; The Koman Group; Trane Commercial Systems; Tri-Co, Inc., Commercial; and Vantage Credit Union. Each corporation will have an Innovative Teaching Grant awarded in its name through the foundation’s grants program. Grant examples include the purchase of software that allows elementary school students to learn to compose melodies and write lyrics, integrating art and writing skills, and the school-wide implementation of a program that teaches students to positively resolve conflicts on their own. These generous gifts will also be recognized at a donor recognition reception. The Parkway Education Foundation was established in 1990 by local business and community leaders to benefit the students of the Parkway School District. The Education Foundation raises funds from individuals, businesses and civic organizations. Gifts to the Education Foundation are used to recognize exemplary teaching and support learning opportunities not funded by school budgets and taxes. For more information about the Parkway Education Foundation call (314) 415-8135 or go to the Parkway web site at www.pkwy.k12.mo.us and click on "Community" and then on "Education Foundation."
