Central High students finalists in TV commercial contest
Four Central High students are among the top 10 finalists in a televison commercial contest sponsored by Midwest Dairy and the sports station ESPN. The contest required high school students to write and record commercials to promote milk drinking. Though the Central High students didn't win the grand prize in the contest, all ranked among the top 10 finalists. During November, the public had a chance to vote for their favorite commercial on the ESPN Web site, http://www.101espn.com. The winning commercial, which can be viewed at http://www.101espn.com/section/wxos_micro_midwestdairy, will be played during remaining RAMS games.
The four finalists from Central High are Alex Mischel, Tia and Toni Pennington and Hannah Wiedner. All are from Kevin Mabie's Communication Arts classes. "I didn't help them come up with the scripts," he says, "but I strongly encouraged them to enter the contest."
