Parkway personnel changes announced

Kathy Blackmore (left), assistant superintendent for teaching, learning and accountability, has decided to retire after 35 years in education. She has spent the majority of her career in Parkway and is a Parkway Central alumnus. “Kathy’s leadership and many contributions to the district, especially through Project Parkway, have been instrumental in moving the district forward.  We are very grateful for her many years of service and dedication to Parkway students," said Superintendent Keith Marty.

Dr. Amy Spears (right), has been named to replace Dr. Tim Hudson as Parkway’s curriculum coordinator of mathematics education, effective January 3, 2012. Dr. Spears currently serves as an adjunct professor at Lindenwood University in educational leadership. She taught mathematics at McCluer High School and has taught middle school science and mathematics in the Francis Howell, Northwest and Lebanon school districts, as well as mathematics at the junior college level.

Mrs. Rhonda Coleman (left), is appointed interim principal of Highcroft Ridge Elementary School for the remainder of the 2011-12 school year. She is replacing Ms. Simone Wilson who recently resigned. Mrs. Coleman has had a long career in Parkway, starting as a classroom teacher at South High in 1976, and serving as an assistant principal and principal at West and South middle schools. Since retiring in 2002, she has served Parkway as an interim principal and assistant principal at several schools.

Julie Harrison (right), coordinator of guidance and counseling, is resigning as of December 31, to relocate with her family to Houston, Texas. In her position, Julie has been a strong advocate for young people, raising community awareness about issues related to the social, emotional and educational needs of students and working to improve the counseling curriculum. Prior to taking the coordinator position, she served as a guidance counselor at River Bend Elementary since 2007.
