Welcome Home the Heroes Parade

It started as an idea between two friends who thought the least this city could do was say an official thank you to the men and women that served our country in Iraq.  They began a Facebook group, Make January 28th Welcome Home the Heroes from Iraq Day, that ignited thousands of passionate citizens to donate time, money and services for the cause.  The Mission Continues, (founded by North High graduate, Eric Greitens) a national nonprofit organization challenging post-9/11 veterans to rebuild a sense of purpose through community service, announced their support of the grassroots group to throw a parade. St. Louis will become the first major American city to officially welcome the troops home from Iraq.

One of the parade organizers is Parkway board member and North High graduate, Tom Appelbaum.

Parade Starts at NOON January 28th, 2012
