Parkway North Senior Creates Official Artwork of the 2005 Final Four

Eric Hungerford, a senior at Parkway North High School, is the winner of the "Art of Sportsmanship" art contest presented by Minute Maid and in conjunction with the 2005 NCAA men's basketball Final Four. His piece is now the official artwork of this year's Final Four. Thirty students from 16 area high schools competed in the contest, in which they were told to create a poster depicting their vision of the meaning of "sportsmanship." Eric's piece features two basketball players on opposing teams, one extending his hand to help the other off the floor. Eric's piece will be displayed at the NCAA Hoop City, an interactive fan festival held in conjunction with the Final Four. Hoop City will take place April 1-4 at America's Center. As the contest winner, Eric will receive a $2,500 college scholarship. He will officially receive his scholarship check at an event at Hoop City on April 2. Eric plans to attend the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design next year to study illustration. Eric's teacher at North High is Grant Kniffen.
