About the American String Teachers Association
American String Teachers Association is the nation’s premier membership association for string and orchestra teachers and players, helping them to develop and refine their skills throughout their careers, from budding student teachers to artist-status performers. ASTA offers services tailored to each member’s unique needs. The Missouri Chapter of ASTA (MoASTA) is active in many areas supporting string performance and education. The Board of Directors oversees the Missouri All State Orchestra Program.

The String Educator Initiative is designed to encourage more students to pursue string education as a career, and to seek ways to advance the cause of string education throughout the state.
