    • Suburbia-residential towns that are around major cities
    • Manifest Destiny-a belief and policy that claimed the United States had a right to expand on the North American continent
    • European Union-an organization that unites many European nations for political, social, and economic goals such as free trade and military cooperation
    • Stalemate-a political situation in which further action is blocked
