Parkway Assessment

The mission of the Parkway School District is to ensure all students are capable, curious and confident learners who understand and respond to the challenges of an ever-changing world.

We succeed when our students and graduates are:

  • able to transfer their prior learning to new demands, in and out of school
  • fully prepared for their next educational challenges
  • creative, thoughtful and effective problem solvers
  • increasingly self-directed, skilled and persistent as learners
  • literate and critical consumers of information and ideas
  • articulate speakers and effective listeners
  • acting out of a strong sense of personal, social and civic responsibility
  • always seeking to understand the views, values and cultures of others
  • working skillfully with others to achieve common goals
  • pursuing a personal direction based on an understanding of their talents and interests

We believe that all students can learn but will not all learn at the same rate, and the desire to learn must come from within the learner. Intellectual capabilities are not fixed within learners; rather, capacity to learn can be improved with proper interventions and experiences.

Parkway assessment is integral to the learning process and should involve multiple measures and various question types from national, state, district, and classroom assessments. When properly designed, administered, and interpreted, assessment results provide a meaningful independent source of information that can be used to design appropriate educational opportunities for students, and communicate to stakeholders.

Please e-mail or call us if you have any questions or suggestions.
