What Parkway is Doing to Keep Students Healthy and Safe
In addition to stressing precautions and healthy habits with students and staff, our schools are redoubling their cleaning efforts, focusing on germ-attracting surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, cafeteria areas and desks. We are also providing schools with extra supplies of tissues, soap and hand cleansers.
At the district level, we are monitoring the situation closely and preparing to respond appropriately. Parkway is working in conjunction with local health agencies, mobilizing district and school crisis teams to deal with any outbreak of the swine influenza in Parkway. While it is important not to overreact, we must be prepared to deal with the many aspects of potential school disruptions due to outbreaks of H1N1.
At the present time, students and adults should carry on with their normal activities as scheduled, but use precautions and stay informed about any new developments. We will continue to communicate as closely as possible with parents and staff using our Web site, as well as our rapid communications phone, text and e-mail alerts.
