The Allergy Project
What is the Allergy Project?
Welcome to the Parkway Food Services' Allergy Project page. We have had numerous requests over the last few years for the ingredient makeup of our menu items. We have been offering nutritional analyses for many years but more and more parents are taking a proactive approach to their child(ren)'s food allergies.
We have been sending the product labels to our parents and nursing staff for the last couple of years but recent technology advances now make it possible for us to provide this information online in an interactive way.
How Does it Work?
When you follow the link below, our six week cycle menu will open up on your screen. The menu repeats as the title suggests every six weeks. We add or delete items based on popularity, the type government food commodities we are receiving, product cost, quality, etc.
Information is presented in pdf format so you need Adobe Reader installed. After viewing an ingredient file, press the back arrow at top left to return to the menu. You can resize images using the drop down boxes in the center of the page ie. 100%, 125%, etc. Click File – Print at top left to get a print out of the information.
Menus vary by school so this may not exactly match your school's menu on a Thursday if your school has branded pizza.
You will see three colors on menu items. Red indicates a product listing is available. Blue indicates a generic item such as fresh fruits or vegetables. Black text indicates there is no listing is currently available.
A Work in Progress
This Web page will always be a work in progress. We started with the Elementary School menu and have just added the Middle School menu. Breakfast comes next and then specialty lines, Landshire sandwiches and other items of interest. We hope you enjoy this new feature and will pass the word to friends or relatives with children in Parkway schools with allergies.
