Objective 1: All staff members will engage in professional learning and collaboration that positively impacts Parkway's diverse student population.

The current status:

Previously, professional learning for educators was primarily based on the workshop model (educators learn new strategies outside of the regular school day). In the 2012-2013 school year the model for professional learning will become more job-embedded with the implementation of professional learning communities.

Why the objective is important:

Improved teacher instruction as a result of effective professional learning results in significant gains in student achievement.

How the objective is measured:

  1. Growth in student achievement for ALL students (Baseline data 2011-2012 school year)
