Goal 1: All students are Capable Learners who transfer their prior learning to new demands, in and out of school.

Objective 2: All students will meet Missouri's required proficiency or growth targets on state exams.

The current status:

In 2012, 72.2% of Parkway students in the tested grades/courses demonstrated proficiency or advanced in communication arts; 70.9% of Parkway students showed proficiency or advnced in mathematics.

Why the objective is important:

We succeed when all of our students and graduates are able to transfer their prior learning to new demands, in and out of school. We expect, and hold ourselves accountable for, all Parkway students to demonstrate substantive growth in all content areas on a variety of measures, including state exams.

How the objective is measured:

Results from the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade-Level Assessments in communication arts in grades 3-8 and End of Course (EOC) exams in Algebra I and English 2 at the high school level are reported. There are four levels of proficiency for each test: Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, and Advanced. In addition to the level of proficiency, we are also able to track a student's growth over time.

To reach this objective in Parkway, we expect every student to score at the Proficient or Advanced levels in the tested grades/content areas or to demonstrate significant growth toward the Proficient level for those students initially performing below the Proficient target.
