Preparing 1960s Schools for the Next Generation

Nearly 200 Parkway citizens and staff members participated in the Feb. 25 town hall meeting on the district’s long-range plan to repair and renovate our aging schools. In the first of two public sessions, the focus was on school budgets and financial information. Materials from the meeting and survey data are now posted on the Parkway Web site.*****

The second meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Parkway Central High School, 369 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield. The topics for the second meeting will be facilities improvements and classroom renovation and space needs. Presenters will include Kathy Blackmore, who is in charge of Parkway’s technology integration, curriculum, development and assessment programs, and Mike Mertens, director of facilities. Participants who arrive early or wish to stay later will have an opportunity to tour some classrooms that are in need of renovation.

All supporting materials for both meetings, including recent survey data, meeting agendas, presentations and feedback questionnaires are posted on Parkway’s Web site at http://www.pkwy.k12.mo.us/facStudies/index.cfm.
