Central High Student Earns Highest Score in Missouri on AP Exams
Central High senior, Zhimeng (Kristy) Yang, is one of the two highest-scoring Missouri students on the mathematics, science and technology Advanced Placement (AP) exams. The high test scores qualify Yang for the College Board’s Siemens Advanced Placement Award. Read more--
North High has a National Winner in French Contest
Adrienne Hunt, French II student at North High, placed 8th in the nation and 3rd in the state in the Le Grand Concours 2009, an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
South High Sophomore Qualifies for America Mathematical Olympiad
Michael Zhao, a sophomore at South High School, recently qualified to participate in the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). A math club member, Zhao, is the first student from South High School to qualify for the USAMO. Zhao was one of only 514 students invited to participate in the USAMO, placing him in the top five percent of students in grades 9-12 in the U.S. and Canada. Read more--
West High Senior Earns $15,000 Scholarship in National Science Competition
Marilyn Piccirillo, a senior at Parkway West High School, was awarded a $15,000 college scholarship in the Young Epidemiology Scholars (YES) Competition. Marilyn was among 60 high school students selected out of more than 560 entrants nationwide to present their projects to a top panel of epidemiologists in Washington D.C. and one of 12 National Finalists selected at the competition.
