West High's Yearbook Staff Nationally Recognized for Outstanding Journalism

For the fifth time in six years, Parkway West High School received a First Class Rating with a mark of distinction from the National Scholastic Press Association's critique service. The prestigious award honors a yearbook that successfully covers the year’s events through writing, design and photography.

Parkway West was chosen out of a group of finalists that included the largest and most distinguished yearbooks in the country.  They won the same award in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

"This is a huge honor," said Debra Klevens, adviser of the PAWESEHI Yearbook staff. "My journalists are always learning and growing, and now what they delivered to our readers has been recognized by the leaders in the industry."

The National Scholastic Press Association, based and incorporated in Minnesota as a non-profit educational association, provides journalism education services to students, teachers, media advisers and others throughout the United States and in other countries.
