Parkway Partners with City of Manchester

The City of Manchester and Parkway Schools are proud to announce an innovative partnership to improve student achievement and community interaction.

“The young people of our community are an important asset to our community, and engaging them early is a proven way to develop the next generation of civic leaders," said Andy Hixson, Manchester city administrator.

The partnership will feature Parkway students and alumni in Manchester events including the upcoming Manchester Arts Council photography show and the Manchester Community band. Both will promote students successes and community events.

"It's important to Parkway that we have strong relationships with the cities where our students live. And more importantly, to give them access to experiential learning opportunities, such as our partnership with Manchester Arts. We decided to expand the partnership to the City of Manchester because it just made sense. We want our students to realize the value and opportunities that exist in their own backyard. We would love for them to take what they have learned in Parkway and potentially stay here after they graduate; to live, work and give back to their community,” said Dr. Keith Marty, superintendent, Parkway Schools.

In addition to character education, the agreement is meant to strengthen the communication between the Parkway Schools and the City of Manchester. Organizational leadership from both entities will examine areas of cooperation, cost sharing, and the importance of continued government/public service education in the district curriculum.
