AlertNow Calling System Reminders

With the increased usage of the district’s new rapid notification service, some common questions have been asked by parents receiving the AlertNow automated phone calls and e-mail messages. Answers to these frequently asked questions can be found below. More information can also be found at: http://www.pkwy.k12.mo.us/news/stories.cfm?ID=4B900DF0%2D1279%2D93A5%2D5D69C94A4372686C

Q1: Is there any way to repeat a message if it gets cut off?

A1: Yes. If for some reason a call is received with the message in progress, the recipient can press any number key on the telephone pad to restart the message from the beginning.

Q2: To which parent phone numbers and e-mail addresses are non-emergency reminder-type messages sent?

A2: It is important to know that there is a difference in how emergency and non-emergency messages are distributed. These are standard and cannot be altered on an individual basis.

NON-EMERGENCY PHONE messages are most common. They will generally be issued from the school’s main phone number. Since these types of messages are not of an urgent nature, they will be directed to the following numbers:

  • Student’s home phone
  • Home phone of parent with whom student does not reside

NON-EMERGENCY E-MAIL messages are sent to:

  • Father’s e-mail address
  • Mother’s e-mail address

EMERGENCY PHONE messages will generally be issued from the Parkway School District main phone number, (314) 415-8100, and will be directed to all of the following numbers:

  • Student’s home phone
  • Home phone of parent with whom student does not reside
  • Mother’s work and cell phone
  • Father’s work and cell phone

EMERGENCY E-MAIL messages are sent to the following addresses:

  • Mother’s e-mail
  • Father’s e-mail
  • Other parent e-mail
