Tax Breaks Available for Senior Citizens - must file by Oct. 2

The Missouri Homestead Preservation Credit program allows senior citizens (age 65 or older with annual income up to $72,380) to apply for a credit on their property taxes if the taxes increase more than 2.5 percent in even-numbered years, or 5 percent in odd-numbered years.
