New Assistant Superintendents and Principals Named
Superintendent Marty has announced the selection of four Parkway administrators to fill two assistant superintendent and two principal positions in the district. They will assume their new positions on July 1, 2012.
Dr. Lisa Merideth has been selected as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning and Accountability, replacing Kathy Blackmore who is retiring after 35 years in education. Dr. Merideth has 27 years of educational experience and currently serves as Parkway’s Elementary Communications Arts Curriculum Coordinator. Prior to joining Parkway in 2006, Dr. Merideth served as Literacy and Math Staff Developer and Director of Title I programs for the Jennings School District. Prior to that, Dr. Merideth served the Columbia (Mo.) School District for 14 years as a classroom teacher and Literacy Specialist. She holds a doctorate of education from Maryville University as well as a master’s degree in education from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in human environmental science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Chelsea Watson has been selected as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, replacing Dr. Bonnie Maxey who is retiring after 38 years in Parkway. Dr. Watson has 20 years of educational experience including nine years as principal of Southwest Middle School and six years as an assistant principal and administrative intern. Prior to joining Southwest Middle School, Dr. Watson served as a teacher for five years at Wren Hollow Elementary. She holds a doctorate of education from Lindenwood University as well as a master of arts from Maryville University and a bachelor of arts from Drury College in Springfield, Mo.
Dr. Patrice Aitch has been selected as the new Principal at South High, replacing Gary Mazzola who is retiring after 31 years with Parkway. Dr. Aitch has 18 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. She taught high school social studies for six years and has served as Assistant Principal at South High for the past 12 years. Dr. Aitch holds a doctorate of education and an education specialist degree from Missouri Baptist University, as well as a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in education from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo.
Aaron McPherson has been selected as Principal of Highcroft Ridge Elementary, replacing Ms. Simone Wilson who retired in December and Dr. Rhonda Coleman who has been serving as Interim Principal. Mr. McPherson has 10 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. He taught vocal music at Northeast Middle and Central Middle for four years, and served as Administrative Intern and Assistant Principal at South Middle, and Assistant Principal at Carman Trails Elementary. Mr. McPherson holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in vocal music from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo.
