Parkway Students Grow from Peer Teaching Experience

 

 

More than 100 Parkway high school students benefited from their recent Peer Teaching retreat at Camp Wyman in Eureka.  The purpose of the retreat is to allow students to look introspectively at themselves and participate in group activities which allow them to explore four main themes related to character development--integrity, responsibility, uniqueness and connectedness. 

Guest speakers Keith Sanders (North High assistant principal) and Barry Kraft (“Rachel's Challenge”), helped inspire students to adopt an "All In" approach to living a drug-free lifestyle, stopping violence and bullying, and building a positive learning environment within their schools.  In February, every seventh grade student in Parkway will have the opportunity to work with peer teachers on these topics.
