Chesterfield Arts Community Painting Project June 4

As part of its annual "Make Your Mark" public art program, Chesterfield Arts is coordinating a 500-ft. mural project that will be painted by the community on the new flood wall at Baxter Road and Edison Boulevard in the Chesterfield Valley.

This family-friendly event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 4. Plan for a day of fun activities with youth bands, food from local restaurants and art activities, including a chance to design your own t-shirt. You'll also be able to create designs with sidewalk chalk and try your hand at the pottery wheel, plus much more.

A student leadership team, composed of more than 50 St. Louis area students in grades 8-12, has been working since last summer on Phase I of the project, which included creating the design for the mural. This massive paint-by-numbers project will transform the levee and the future Great River Greenway recreation trail. More information on the Chesterfield Arts website.
