13 New Administrators for 2010-11 Announced

The following administrative positions will become effective July 1, 2010:

Jean Manning, Director of Early Childhood
Jean Manning will be the new director of early childhood education. She has served as the preschool coordinator in Parkway from 1999 to the present. Prior to joining Parkway, Manning was the coordinator of early childhood education, coordinator of Parents as Teachers and a parent educator for the Ferguson-Florissant School District. She replaces Pat Teich, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Jeremy Mitchell, Principal, West High
Dr. Jeremy Mitchell has been selected as the new principal of  West High. He began his career as a social studies teacher in Houston, Missouri, then as a teacher at Troy-Buchannan High School for five years. Mitchell served two years as assistant principal at Windsor High School in Jefferson County and has been assistant principal at Central High School since 2003. He replaces Beth Plunkett, who is retiring.


Rene Sommers, Principal, Green Trails Elementary
Dr. Rene Sommers has been selected as the new principal of Green Trails Elementary. A certified administrative assistant at Green Trails since 2006, Sommers previously was a reading specialist at Highcroft Ridge Elementary. She also served as an elementary classroom teacher in other districts prior to joining Parkway.

Julie Collins, Coordinator, Student Assessment
Parkway welcomes Dr. Julie A. Collins as the new coordinator of student assessment. She currently serves as director of secondary curriculum and assessment for the North Kansas City School District. Prior to this, Collins served as North Kansas City's director for assessment and data. She has also served as a middle school assistant principal, a communication arts teacher and a federal programs/school improvement grant writer.

Mary Krekeler, Coordinator, Preschool Education

Mary Krekeler will be the new coordinator of preschool education. She currently serves as principal at Wilkinson Early Childhood Center, a preschool through second grade school in the St. Louis Public School District.

Toby McQuerrey, Coordinator, Social Studies
Toby McQuerrey will be the new coordinator of social studies education. McQuerrey is currently a social studies teacher for Jennings Senior High School and serves as the department chair for social studies. He also has served as an educational technology coordinator at the Barat Academy in Dardenne Prairie.

Elizabeth Morrison, Coordinator of Staff Development
Elizabeth Morrison has been named the coordinator of staff development. Morrison has been the coordinator of social studies education for Parkway since July 2005. Prior to this position, Morrison was a social studies teacher at South High.

Kerri Wetzel, Coordinator, Parents as Teachers
Ms. Kerri Wetzel will be the new coordinator of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program for Parkway. Wetzel is currently the coordinator of PAT for the Ladue School District. Ms. Wetzel was previously coordinator for the Parent and Child Together program and a parent educator in Ladue. She has also worked in child care in Tokyo, Japan, and as a kindergarten teacher in Steinem, Germany.

Jason Adams, Assistant Principal, Ross Elementary
Jason Adams has been named the new assistant principal at Ross Elementary. Adams has been the administrative intern at Ross since August 2009. He also served as summer school principal. Prior to joining Parkway, Adams was an administrative intern for the Summer Adventure Program and an elementary teacher for the Kirkwood School District.

Lori Maddox, Assistant Principal, Alternative Programs and Fern Ridge High
Ms. Lori Maddox will be the new assistant principal for the alternative programs at ISC (PACE, REACH, MOP) and Fern Ridge High School. Maddox is currently an assistant principal at West Middle, and has served as an assistant prinicipal at South Middle and South High. She was also an administrative assistant and teacher at South High, as well as a substitute assistant principal for the Rockwood School District.

Corey Sink, Assistant Principal, South High
Mr. Corey Sink will join South High as a new assistant principal. He is currently a high school assistant principal for the City of St. Charles School District. Prior to this position, Sink served as a marketing/business education teacher at St. Charles High School.

Eric Wilhelm, Assistant Principal, South High
Eric Wilhelm has been named the assistant principal at South High. He is an assistant principal at South Technical High School, and was a history teacher at North Technical High School.

Melissa Yount, Assistant Principal, Craig Elementary School
Melissa Yount is the new assistant principal at Craig Elementary School. Yount is presently an instructional specialist in literacy and mathematics, and a classroom teacher for the Kirkwood School District. She has also served as extended school year administrative intern (elementary) for Kirkwood.
