Southwest Middle Students Win in Literature

Two students from Parkway Southwest Middle School were state winners in the 2009 Letters about Literature contest, an annual competition in which students write a personal letter to an author explaining how his or her work changed their view of the world or themselves.


Joyce Lin was the 1st place winner in her age category for her letter to Charlotte Brontë about Jane Eyre, and is entered into the national competition. Aneeqa Khan won Honorable Mention for her letter to Will Hobbs about Crossing the Wire.
