Parkway High School Students To Hold Community Forum

Mark your calendar for Wed., Sept. 5!  Parkway high school students, in partnership with the Parkway Social Studies Department and Kids Voting Missouri, are organizing the first-ever Parkway Student-Led Legislative Forum. The purpose of the forum is to provide high school students, parents, and other district patrons a chance to engage in a face-to-face dialogue with our state legislators and other elected officials about relevant and important issues as we head into the 2008 election year.

The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, at Parkway Central High School, 369 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield. The evening will begin with a panel of elected officials and discussion. Missouri officials invited to serve on the panel include: Senator Joan Bray, Senator Michael Gibbons, Representative Rick Stream, and Representative Sam Page. The panel will be followed by round-table discussions to include other invited U.S., state and local elected officials.

“Parkway is proud to have so many talented and passionate young people involved in civics and government. They will bring a fresh perspective and high energy to this groundbreaking event,” said Parkway Superintendent Robert Malito.
