Twenty-eight Parkway Students Qualify as National Merit Semifinalists

Parkway has 28 students who recently qualified as National Merit Semifinalists in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program. Some 16,000 students, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, have qualified as National Merit Semifinalists. These students now have an opportunity to continue in the program to further qualify for nearly 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards, worth $33 million, that will be offered next spring. Following are the Parkway semifinalists: Central High: Rebecca Getman, Joshua Hendin, Rebecca Hendin, Jessie Hu, Angela Lee, James Lee, Julia Rubin, Anna Ruman, Benjamin Singer and Kevin Yuan. North High: Charles Agoos, Sarah Barasch, Adam Hoffman, David Klein and Brett Knight. South High: Scott Dodds, Patricia Goodwin, Andrew McCall, Todd Romkema, Elizabeth Swanger, Jinyu Zhang and Luyi Zhao. West High: Anne Allhoff, Bryan Glass, Nalin Katta, Peter Smith, Sida Yan and Chao Zhang. South HighÂ’s McCall was also among 1,600 scholastically talented Black American high school seniors across the country to qualify as a National Achievement Semifinalist in the 42nd annual National Achievement Scholarship Program.
