New Parkway Administrators Announced

Superintendent Keith Marty has announced the selection of five new administrators who will assume their positions on July 1, 2012. In addition, candidates for three positions have been recommended to the Parkway Board of Education, and upon approval will begin July 1.

Coordinator of English Language Arts - Susan Irby has been recommended for the position of Coordinator for English Language Arts, replacing Dr. Lisa Merideth who will be the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning and Accountability. Irby has been with Parkway for 14 years, most recently as a Literacy Coach at Pierremont Elementary since 2007. She had previously taught first and fifth grades at Ross Elementary for nine years.

Irby holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Missouri State University, a master's degree in education from Maryville University and an educational specialist degree in education, curriculum and instruction from Missouri Baptist University.

Craig Elementary Interim Principal - Bruce Hunter has been selected to serve as Interim Principal at Craig Elementary effective April 25, replacing Dr. Nicole Evans who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Hunter recently retired from Parkway after serving 31 years with the district, most recently as Principal at Shenandoah Valley Elementary School.

Carman Trails Assistant Principal - Robert Villigram has been named Assistant Principal at Carman Trails Elementary, replacing Aaron McPherson who will be Principal at Highcroft Ridge. Villigram is currently an Administrative Intern at Wren Hollow Elementary where he has served since 2009. Prior to that he taught science at South High for eight years.

Villigram earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Central Middle Administrative Intern - Caroline (Carrie) Lawton has been recommended for the position of Administrative Intern at Central Middle, replacing Dr. Jana Reiter. Lawton has been a middle school math teacher for 16 years and has served an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia since 2009.

Lawton has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Southwest Missouri State and a master's degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University

River Bend Elementary Assistant Principal - Jodi Meese has been named Assistant Principal at River Bend Elementary. Meese has served as Assistant Principal at Craig Elementary since 2011 and prior to that was the Administrative Intern at Barretts Elementary for two years. As an elementary teacher, Meese taught first, second and fifth grades. 

Meese received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master of educational administration from Lindenwood University.

Ross Elementary Assistant Principal - Felicia Boyd has been recommended for the position of Assistant Principal at Ross Elementary, replacing Jason Adams. Boyd comes to Parkway from the Hazelwood School District, where she has served as an Instructional Specialist for four years and Professional Development Specialist for three years. She also spent eight years as a third, fourth and fifth-grade classroom teacher.

Boyd holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Harris Stowe State College, a master’s degree in education from National-Louis University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University.

South High Assistant Principal - Darryl Diggs has been chosen as Assistant Principal at South High, replacing Paula Hopkins. Diggs has been a science teacher at South Middle since 2007 and was recently selected by the Parkway Alumni Association as the recipient of an Albert Award. The Albert Awards honor the accomplishments and promise of teachers in their first through fifth year of teaching.

Diggs holds a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master's degree in educational administration from Missouri Baptist University.

South High Assistant Principal - Michelle Thompson has been selected as Assistant Principal at South High, replacing Barbara Moore who is retiring. Thompson has 16 years of experience as a teacher and administrator, most recently as Special School District (SSD) Area Coordinator at South High since 2009. She started her career as a secondary science teacher and moved into special education teaching in 2002.

Thompson received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from William Woods University in Fulton. She also received her school leadership educational specialist degree from Webster University.
