"Current Reality" in Parkway

Following a preliminary budget report to the board of education in December by Parkway's CFO, Mark Stockwell, and after the board reviewed results of community and staff surveys conducted in October and November, the board felt it was necessary to further engage the public in discussions about some of the major challenges Parkway is currently facing. A representative group of Parkway parents and staff was convened to participate in a series of meetings to study and react to Parkway's "Current Reality," with the main emphasis on finances and curriculum. This group held its final meeting February 28 to review and provide feedback on a draft report summarizing the work and conclusions of the committee. To view background information, Q&A, presentation materials and feedback from the January and February meetings, visit Parkway's web site at Using feedback and information from these sessions, a brief report will be made to the board of education on March 8 and additional meetings will be held with school communities in April and May. A public meeting for the entire Parkway community to learn more about the current reality in Parkway will be held from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Monday, April 10 at Central Middle School, 471 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield.
