Games:

Turtle Tag
(indoors or outdoors)
Equipment: Three pinnes.
Directions: In a large area, three players are “IT”. They try to tag everyone else. If you get tagged, you must get on all fours and keep moving legs and arms until freed. The person is freed if someone crawls under him/her.

Wildcats
(indoors or outdoors)
Equipment
: Four pinnes, one ball per child ( ball must be bouncy).
Directions: Two boys and two girls are selected as “Wildcats” and put on two pinnes. All other students are given a ball to dribble. If the “Wildcats” are successful at disrupting the dribble, the dribbler must get their ball and go and shoot, then return as a dribbler. Change “Wildcats” every two to three minutes.

Stuck In The Mud
(indoors or outdoors)
Equipment
: Yarn balls or gym pinnes to designate taggers.
Directions: Select two to four tagggers who wear pinnes or carry yarn balls. Anyone tagged by the taggers stand with their legs apart as if stuck in the mud. Other players who are not stuck may free the “stuck” person by crawling under him/her. Change taggers frequently.

Cops and Robbers
(indoors and outdoors)
Equipment: None
Directions: Mark off a corner on the playing area for the prison. One squad is selected to be the “Cops” or catchers. This group goes into the prison so the other players can see who they are , and the leader of this group selects two players to be the guards for the prison. The teacher blows a whistle and all but two guards run out and try to tag the other players. When a player is tagged, he/ she raises his/ her arms high in the air and goes directly to the prison. (If his/ her arms are already up, the other children can tell who has already been tagged.) If a player who is not tagged can get to the other prison and tag a “Prisoner”, the prisoner can run free again. When all are in prison, the teacher selects another squad to be the “Cops” or the catchers.
