April 2012
Principal's NewsletterThe last few weeks of the school year are quickly approaching. If the warm weather is not a sufficient reminder, one only needs to spend a little time in the hallways at school. In a matter of moments, you will undoubtedly hear a student, usually a senior, share with a classmate the precise number of days left in the year. For so many, the end of the school prompts a longing for summer. For generations, summer has been a season of dreams for students; a time to engage in new and exciting experiences at camp, in the workplace, or traveling. While it is natural to spend time dreaming of upcoming experiences, we have much work to do before the last day of school.
Missouri End of Course (EOC) exams will be administered at the end of April and the beginning of May. Algebra and Biology exams take place the week of April 24th with English II and Government exams given the week of April 30th. A more detailed schedule is available on the website. Robotics Club
NUTS 'n' COLTS: This is the first year for a robotics group at PCH sponsored by Tim Huether, Sandy Patterson and Travis Fast. The team met for several weeks organizing and developing a viable robot for entry into the First Robotics Competition which was held at Chaifetz Center over spring break. Keeping up with Project Help
We'd like to thank all of the students, parents, faculty, and staff who helped make our recent events successful! In January, Project Help sponsored a collection of prom dresses to donate to the Metro St. Louis Cinderella Project. This great cause helps young women who, due to economic hardships, otherwise might not get the chance to attend prom. Central High collected and donated 72 dresses to the Cinderella Project. Then in February, the Central High community raised $200 and collected an array of items for our "Canines, Cats, and Critters" event which supports the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. |
