I Wish You Well!Dear Carman Trails Families, It is very bittersweet for me to sit here and write my last newsletter to you. As you know, I am retiring at the end of this school year. As I told other principals when I announced my upcoming retirement back in the fall, I started teaching 36 years ago in north St. Louis. I loved it from day one. It has been such an enormous privilege to have influenced thousands of children over the course of my career. Not only has it been a privilege, it has given me so much joy. I will miss that. I have loved getting to know you as we help your children grow in their young lives. Summer is right around the corner. Below are some suggestions to help your family find the balance when there’s less time in school and more time at home. We hope these ideas help you and your child enjoy some good times together in the next few months. The PTO will be hosting a Retirement Reception in the library. Date: Tuesday, May 21 Time: 4:30-6:00 pm Place: Carman Trails Library Retirees: Beth Wendling, Nancy Lynn and Gayla Rothermich Who is Invited: Current and past students, parents and staff
May is a special time for families at Carman Trails due to our traditional May Day Celebration. Students in all grade levels have been rehearsing songs and dances to share with their peers, parents, and neighbors. The celebration will take place on the south parking lot. You are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair and join your friends, neighbors, and former Carman Trails students on the hill overlooking the parking lot “stage”. Originally this was scheduled for Friday, May 3, but due to the rain forecast, we need to reschedule. Our rain date is Monday, May 6, but we will have to look at the forecast. Stay tuned for the new date. |
