Bond Issue 2008 - Proposition S
On August 14 the Parkway School Board voted unanimously to place an $87 million bond issue on the November 4, 2008 ballot. If approved by voters, the referendum would not require an increase to the tax rate. A four-sevenths (57.14%) majority is necessary for passage. The six major areas of need that would be addressed by the bond issue include:
- School Maintenance & Repairs
- High School Science Labs
- Technology (classroom equipment & electrical infrastructure)
- Student Safety, Security & Health
- Elementary Classroom Walls
- Fine Arts
