Thank you Library Volunteers:
I would like to thank our wonderful library volunteers for once again being so loyal and for helping our students and me this year. Our library could not run so smoothly without their assistance. They are: Sharon Bellamy, Emily McLean, Christy Schindler, Pratima Murali, Dana Cornwall, Megan Tocco, and Becky Powell. You are all the best!

Summer Reading Lists:
Don’t forget to read over the summer break! You can find the Parkway Summer Reading List for your child on our library PANDA page. Also, students going into 4th, 5th, or 6th grade can get a head start on reading the 2012-2013 Mark Twain Award nominees which are also linked on the PANDA page. I recommend that you read these books with your child; just because our children can read on their own doesn’t mean we stop sharing literature with them. Importance of Summer Reading:
Please remember to enroll your child in the summer reading program at your local public library in June. Research shows that children who read during their summer vacation maintain or increase their reading level when they return to school in August. Plus, it’s fun!

Library Book Round-Up:
Parents, please be aware that all Parkway School District library books are due Friday, May 4th. Lost or damaged library materials should be paid for by this date also. Ask your child if they have received an overdue notice from the library reminding them to return books. Fines for lost or damaged materials are as follows:
Hardcover books $20
Paperback books $10
Magazines $5
